Elixir troop

The Yeti is a durable ground troop that releases small Yetimites as it takes damage, so it brings its own swarm with it. That combination of a tank and a supply of expendable damage makes it unusually self-sufficient.

What it does

The Yeti has substantial hitpoints and deals solid damage, and as it is damaged it releases Yetimites, small fast units that attack independently. Effectively the Yeti converts incoming damage into additional attackers.

That makes it strong against single-target defences, which spend their fire on the Yeti while the Yetimites work freely, and weaker against splash, which clears the Yetimites as fast as they appear.

How to use it

Yetis anchor a ground push rather than leading one alone.

How to beat it

Splash damage, centrally placed. The Yetimites are what make the unit dangerous, and they die to area damage almost instantly. A base whose splash coverage reaches the compartments a Yeti must break into neutralises most of its value while the single-target defences handle the parent unit.

Frequently asked

What are Yetimites?

Small fast units the Yeti releases as it takes damage. They attack independently, which means the Yeti effectively converts the damage it absorbs into extra attackers, and they are removed very quickly by splash defences.

What counters the Yeti?

Splash damage placed where a Yeti has to break in, because area damage clears the Yetimites almost as fast as they spawn and removes most of what makes the unit dangerous.
