Earthquake Spell — Clash of Clans

Spells

Dark Elixir

Updated: 18 September 2026 · By the Goblins Farm team

Earthquake deals damage as a proportion of a building's maximum hitpoints and hits walls especially hard. That makes it a wall-opening tool and a softener, rather than a killer.

What it does

Because its damage is proportional rather than flat, it is equally effective against a fresh building at any level, and it is disproportionately effective against walls. Repeated Earthquakes on the same target have diminishing returns, so stacking them on one wall is less efficient than it looks.

Frequently asked

Does the Earthquake Spell destroy walls?

It deals heavy proportional damage to walls, which is its main use, though whether it destroys them outright depends on the levels involved. Stacking several on one wall has diminishing returns, so spreading them is usually better.

Why pair Earthquake with Lightning?

Earthquake softens a building by a proportion of its maximum health, which can reduce the number of Lightning Spells needed to finish off a key defence such as an Air Defence.
