Dragon Duke — Clash of Clans
Heroes
Updated: 18 September 2026 · By the Goblins Farm team
The Dragon Duke unlocks at Town Hall 15 and runs to 25 levels. He targets both ground and air and starts at 9,100 hitpoints and 304 damage per second at level one, which puts him among the most durable units you can deploy.
What the numbers say
Twenty-five levels, unlocking at Town Hall 15, upgraded with dark elixir, two equipment slots, and targeting both ground and air. At level one he already carries 9,100 hitpoints and 304 damage per second.
That opening durability is the striking part. It puts him in a different category from the Barbarian King at equivalent progress, and it suggests a hero meant to be sent somewhere dangerous rather than protected.
Where he fits in the upgrade queue
By Town Hall 15 you are running several heroes, and dark elixir is the constraint on all of them, as set out in dark elixir. Adding a hero does not add dark elixir income, it adds another queue competing for it.
The rule from upgrade priority still decides this: stagger them so one is always upgrading and you always have the others available. A new hero is a reason to farm dark elixir harder, not a reason to leave an existing hero idle.
Equipment
Two slots, which are swappable freely between attacks. The standing advice applies: concentrate ores on the pieces you actually equip rather than levelling everything you own, and remember that whatever loadout you leave on is what defends your base. See hero equipment.
A note on confidence
The Dragon Duke was absent entirely from the data source this wiki originally launched on, which is part of why we replaced it. The figures here are read from the game files and are as reliable as anything else on the site. What we have not done is play enough at Town Hall 15 with him to describe his ability and behaviour from experience, so this page deliberately stops at what the data supports. Corrections welcome.

Frequently asked
When do you unlock the Dragon Duke?
At Town Hall 15. He runs to 25 levels, is upgraded with dark elixir like every hero, and carries two equipment slots.
Should I upgrade the Dragon Duke before my other heroes?
Not at the expense of leaving another hero idle. Dark elixir is the constraint at this stage, so stagger upgrades to keep one hero always improving while the others stay available, rather than adding a fourth or fifth queue and finishing none of them.
